DURHAM, N.C. – Furman's David Oliver IV carded a final round 69 on Tuesday and finished tied for 11^th place to lead the Paladin men's golf team on the last day of the 16th annual Rod Myers Invitational at the par 72, 7,154 yard Duke University Golf Club.

Due to expected inclement weather in the Durham area, the tournament was shortened to 36 holes with teams completing their second, and final, round on Tuesday.

A junior from Pageland, S.C., Oliver posted a 3-under par round over his final 18 holes highlighted by five birdies with four coming over a stretch of six holes. Oliver, who posted a total score of 4-under 140, finished six shots back of tournament champion Vijay Powell of George Mason, who registered a 10-under par score with rounds of 68 and 66.

Ludvig Josefsson also recorded five birdies for a final round score of 3-under 69 and finished one shot behind Oliver in a tie for 14^th place at 3-under 141. Tucker Gutierrez turned in three birdies during his second round of 1-under 71 and finished in a tie for 29^th place with a two-round score of even-par 144.

Ben Loomis and Cameron Reed rounded out the tournament for Furman in a tie for 60th and 71st places, respectively. Loomis wrapped up tournament play at 6-over par 150 and Reed 8-over 152. Loomis compiled a final round 73 and Reed an even-par 72.  Playing as an individual, Benton Manly tied with Loomis in 61^st place at 150 following rounds of 76 and 74.

UNC Greensboro (-20) captured the Rod Myers Invitational by five strokes over UNC Wilmington (-15). Harvard (-12) placed third, host Duke (-9) fourth, and George Mason (-5) fifth.  As a team, the Paladins finished tied for seventh place with Northern Illinois at 2-under 574. Furman placed higher on the leaderboard than SoCon foe Wofford (+3, T-10^th) and Power 4 opponent Virginia Tech (+11, 13^th).

The Paladins return to action October 4-6 when they travel to Dallas, Texas, for the Trinity Forest Invitational hosted by SMU at the Trinity Forest Golf Club.
