NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Sophomore Ava Hanneman (+4) is tied for 17th to lead Furman (+25) after Saturday's opening two rounds of Notre Dame's Fighting Irish Classic at the par 71, 6,062 yard Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind.

After posting a 74 with three birdies in round one, Hanneman, a native of Orono, Minn., carded an even 71 with a team-high five birdies in round two.  She birdied three out of her final five holes to move up the leaderboard, ending the round nine shots behind individual leaders Isabel Brozena (-5) of Xavier and Samantha Brown (-5) of Purdue.  

Sophomore Olivia Hasselbach (+5) is tied for 20th after two rounds.  She paced Furman with a 1-over 72 in the opening round then added a 75 with a birdie on No. 1 in the day's second round.  Senior Audrey Ryu (+9) scored a 74 with three birdies, including consecutive birdies on No. 4 and No. 5, in round one and a 77 with three birdies in round two, tying for 32nd, and freshman Rebecca Lee (+10) is tied for 38th after carding a 74 and a 78 with two birdies on Saturday.  Junior Eva Ringwald (+11) posted rounds of 78 and 75 with three birdies on the day.

Purdue (-5) leads the tournament by 19 strokes over second-place Louisville (+14).  Xavier (+ 15) sits in third, followed by North Florida (-19) in fourth and host Notre Dame (+19) in fifth place.  The Paladins (+25) sit in eight place, just two strokes back of Power 4 opponent Wisconsin (+23).

Sunday's final round of the 54-hole tournament will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.  Furman will tee off on No. 8 through No. 11 and will play in a group with Ball State and Florida Gulf Coast.
