Carol Elizabeth Kerman Career Records

Junior Year (2019-20):  
Kerman went 1-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles during the shortened 2020 season.  She defeated Emmanuel, 6-1, 6-1, at flight six singles, and her match versus Limestone was unfinished.  In doubles, she teamed with Georgie Walker to defeat Emmauel, 6-2, at flight two then blanked Chattanooga at flight three with Danni Vines.  Kerman and Maggie Pate scored a 6-0 victory over Limestone at flight three.  She was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll, the SoCon Academic All-Conference Team, and the ITA All-Academic Team. 

Sophomore Year (2018-19):  Kerman was voted to the All-Southern Conference second team at flight five singles and at flight three doubles.  She notched a 17-3 overall singles record and a perfect 7-0 SoCon mark, playing at flights five and six.  Kerman opened the season with a five-match winning streak, first picking up victories over Elon, Georgia State, USC Upstate, and Liberty, then extending her streak with a come from behind 5-7, 6-3, 6-1 win to clinch the match in Furman’s 4-3 victory over Penn State.  She went on to win 11-straight matches from March 9 through April 20, including a 7-6(5), 7-6(3) advantage over ETSU to end the regular season and a 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 victory versus the Bucs in the finals of the SoCon Championships.  In doubles, Kerman put together a 17-4 overall mark and a 7-0 record versus SoCon competition.  She teamed with Georgie Walker to go 7-1 at flight three to conclude the season.  Kerman and Walker held off ETSU, 6-4, in the finals of the SoCon Championships.  The Paladin duo, which has combined for a .942 winning percentage over the past two seasons, ranks second in the Furman career records for doubles winning percentage.  Kerman was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll, the SoCon Academic All-Conference Team, and the ITA All-Academic Team. 

Freshman Year (2017-18):  Kerman was chosen to the All-Southern Conference second team at flight four singles and to the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team.  She recorded a 14-7 overall singles mark and a 6-1 record versus SoCon opponents, playing in the bottom half of the lineup.  Kerman defeated non-conference foes Charlotte, Winthrop, Emmanuel, and USC Upstate in February and put together a seven-match winning streak starting March 18 at Mercer and continuing through April 6 at ETSU, when she notched a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 victory at flight four singles.  She posted a 6-0, 6-3 win against Chattanooga to open the SoCon Championships.  Kerman tallied a 16-2 doubles record with a 6-1 league mark.  She teamed with Gabby Rodriguez for a 7-2 overall mark and 4-1 league record then went a perfect 9-0 when partnering with Georgie Walker.  All told, she scored 14-straight doubles wins and won 16 out of 17 regular season matches.  Kerman was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Prep/Personal:  A five-star recruit by www.tennisrecruiting.net, Kerman was the top-ranked player in the state of Georgia and ranked 16th in the Southeast.  She achieved a 56th-place national ranking among players in her graduating class.  Kerman won the doubles championship and was a singles finalist at the 2015 Georgia qualifier and was a finalist in the Southern 1A competition in Raleigh, N.C., in 2016.  The Westminster team MVP as a sophomore, she helped her team to the 3A state championship in 2014 and to a runner-up finish at the state championship in 2015.  Carol Elizabeth Kerman was born on December 25, 1998, in Atlanta, Ga.  She is the daughter of Mike and Lucy Kerman.  She is majoring in accounting.
