Biography

MaryAnn Rompf Career Records

Junior Year (2019-20):
In her first season with the Paladins, Rompf recorded a 7-9 singles record and 10-4 doubles mark.  After posting early singles victories over Davidson and USC Upstate, she claimed key wins over Middle Tennessee and VCU.  Rompf came from behind for a 4-6, 7-6, 1-0 (10-3) advantage versus Chattanooga in her lone SoCon match.  In doubles, Rompf teamed with Katarina Kozarov for a 6-2 victory over Georgia Tech, then she teamed with Georgie Walker for crucial wins versus Michigan State, Louisville, Middle Tennessee, and Marshall.  The duo faced just one league opponent, Chattanooga, and scored a 6-3 victory at flight two.  Rompf was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and the ITA All-Academic Team.

Prior to Furman:  A transfer from Wisconsin, Rompf posted a 22-10 overall record, including a 15-5 mark in dual play and an 8-2 Big Ten record, as a sophomore in 2018-19.  She played primarily at flights five and six and was a member of the Academic All-Big Team. A five-star recruit as a prep at St. Stephens High School, Rompf was the ninth-ranked player in Florida and ranked 31st nationally entering her freshman season.  She compiled a 30-23 record on the national circuit and is the winner of four gold balls, including the 2013 and 2015 USTA National Mother-Daughter Grass Court Championships.  Rompf is the daughter of Bill and Mary Rompf.  Her father played tennis at Stanford, and her mother was an All-American at University of Southern California.  She is majoring in accounting.
