Eva Borders Career Records

Junior Year (2020-21): 
Borders teamed with Julia Adams at flight three doubles for a 6-3 victory over Presbyterian.  She was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll. 

Sophomore Year (2019-20):  Borders did not see action for the Paladins.  She was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and the ITA All-Academic Team. 

Freshman Year (2018-19):  Borders posted a perfect 4-0 record in singles competition and went 2-0 in doubles.  After opening the season with a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0(10-8) win versus Charleston Southern, she scored straight-sets victories at flight five over Emmanuel and Valparaiso and moved to flight six, where she beat Brenau, 6-1, 6-3.  In doubles, Borders teamed with Georgie Walker to defeat Valparaiso, 6-3, at flight two then partnered with Mary Hunter Hyche for a 7-5 win over Brenau at flight three.

Prep/Personal:  Borders, a four-star recruit by www.tennisrecruiting.net, was the top-ranked player in Kentucky and was honored as the 2017 USA Today/Courier-Journal Metro Louisville Female Tennis Player of the Year after winning the state singles title her junior season.  A four-time region singles champion, Borders earned all-region honors five consecutive seasons and was named to the all-state team four-straight years.  She was a member of the USTA Kentucky Southern Cup team from 2014-16, and helped St. Francis School to a region runner-up finish in 2014.  Borders was the recipient of the 2017 Bryn-Mawr Most Purposeful Woman Award from St. Francis.  Eva Caroline Borders was born on June 20, 2000, in Louisville, Ky.  She is the daughter of Greg and Susan Borders.  Her cousin, Eric Quigley Quigley was a five-time tennis NCAA All-American at Kentucky and holds the record for most men’s singles wins in NCAA history.  He has competed the past five years on the pro circuit and played in the 2016 U.S. Open.  Borders is majoring in accounting.
