Biography

2014 — Named coaches pre-season second team All-Southern Conference as a pitcher in early February.  2013 — Enjoyed a very productive junior campaign at three positions:  first base, pitcher, and designated hitter...batted .335 with six home runs and 35 RBI...made 17 appearance on the mound and seven starts, posting a 5-1 record and SoCon leading 2.43 ERA ...opponents hit .236 against him...strong all-around play helped the Paladins post a 32-25 record and sixth place league finish...earned second team All-SoCon honors as a first baseman, where he earned 38 starts...logged 10 starts at designated hitter...penciled in fifth in the batting order in 34 contests....fielded a superb .992 clip, committing just three errors in 373 chances...mid-season switch into the starting rotation was a significant factor in Furman’s  solid stretch run...went 3-1 with a 2.61 ERA in his final seven appearance — all starts...beat Wofford, 13-3, in his first collegiate start (6.0 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 6 K), and followed it up with a strong outing (no decision) in 6-5 Paladin victory at College of Charleston (4.0 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K)...pitched superbly (6.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K) though did not get the decision in 5-3 Paladin win at Georgia Southern...closed the regular season by notching wins over UNCG (6-4) and Dayton (5-2)...hurled the best game of his career (7.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 10 K) in SoCon Tournament action against Georgia Southern but did not get a decision in a 3-2 loss to the Eagles.  2012 — Served his second season as a starter, logging starts in 47 games and, in all, registering playing time in 52 contests...contributed at four positions, primarily at third base (35 starts) but also at designated hiter (10 starts), first base (2 starts), and as a relief pitcher (15 appearances)...hit .251....led the team in walks (34) for a second consecutive season...fashioned another solid year defensively, fielding at a .950 clip...played error free ball in Furman’s first four games to extend his string of errorless games to 25...reached base in 26 consecutive games to begin the season...drove home Will Muzika with a ninth inning, game winning RBI to beat Western Carolina, 9-8, in Southern Conference Tournament action...delivered a 3-for-5 performance in a season opening, 10-2 win over Miami (Ohio)...went 3-for-5 and drove in three runs in an 8-6, 12-inning road victory over The Citadel...belted a three-run, first inning home run to help Furman beat Toledo, 8-5...assumed role as a member of Furman’s bullpen, tossing 15.2 innings of relief (0-1, 6.32 ERA) and collecting a pair of saves...first save came in his first collegiate appearance versus Presbyterian (1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 K)...notched his second save in a 5-4 win at Georgia (1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 K)...excluding one poor outing versus East Tennessee (0.2 IP, 4 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 3 BB, 1 K) recorded a 2.40 ERA in 14 of his 15 appearances....named to the SoCon Spring All-Academic Team and SoCon Academic Honor Roll....played summer ball with the Green Bay Bullfrogs of the Northwoods League, posting a 2-2 record with a 2.34 ERA and three saves....struck out 25 in 23.0 innings...hit .227 with two home runs and 14 RBI.  2011 — Fashioned an impressive inaugural season, appearing in 50 games and earning 44 starts at third base...named to the SoCon All-Freshman Team and was also selected to the SoCon All-Tournament squad...batted  a solid .289 with one home run and 18 RBI...led the team with a .431 on base percentage, drawing a team leading 35 walks, the fourth highest season tally in Furman history....was even more impressive in the field, recording a .955 fielding percentage (tops among SoCon third basemen) with only six errors in 133 chances...played error free ball over his final 21 games...went 7-for-9 with two RBI and two runs scored in three SoCon Tournament games, including 3-for-3, two-run  performance in 12-6 opening round victory over UNC Greensboro...stroked a two-run, ninth inning single against Appalachian State to tie the game at 2-2 en route to a 3-2 Paladin victory...home run came against The Citadel (7-6 win)... member of 2011 North Charleston Dixie Major (17-19) state championship team...threw a complete game, three-hitter to beat Westminster, 5-0, in state title contest.

High School:  2010 graduate of Bishop England (4A) High School...coach was Bill Collier...playd shortstop...earned all-conference honors four times and All-Lowcountry and all-state twice...helped lead Bishop England to a 28-2 record and state title as a junior...finalist for South Carolina Mr. Baseball as a senior...also played three years of basketball, serving as team captain twice and garnering all-region honors in 2010...played summer ball with the Upstate Mavericks coached by Chris Nall.
