Biography

2014 — Named coaches pre-season second team All-Southern Conference as a designated hitter in early February. 2013 -- Provided a major lift to Furman after being activiated at mideseason following intense rehabilitation associated with knee injury sustained in the final fall practice...saw action in 22 games and registered 21 starts -- all at designated hitter...batted a blistering .412 (35x85) with five home runs and 23 RBI...batting average was the highest by a Paladin since 1986 (.432, Eddy Halleman)...slugged a team leading .765 and also led the squad with a .452 on base percentage...19 of his 35 hits went for extra bases...belted a two-run home run in his first career at bat as a Paladin in Furman''s eventual 11-9 victory over College of Charleston...went 3-for-4 with home run, double and three RBI and three runs scored against USC Upstate at Fluor Field (11-6 win)...doubled, homered, and and drove in three runs in a 3-for-4 performance versus Winthrop (6-1 win)...effort against Winthrop marked the the first of three consecutive three-hit games that also featured a 3-for-4 (2B, HR, 3 RBI) display against Georgia Southern (13-5 win)...strong work helped him land SoCon Player of the Week honors on May 5...doubled twice and drove in a pair of runs in a 3-for-6 performance in a 13-7 win over UNCG...doubled in a 4-for-4 outing versus Georgia Southern in SoCon Tournament action.

2012 — Was ineligible for the 2012 season after transferring to Furman following the 2011 campaign at Spartanburg Methodist JC...played summer ball in 2012 with the Thomasville HiToms and was a Coastal Plains League All-Star selection...saw action and registered starts in 48 games in the outfield...batted .288 with four home runs and 31 RBI...led his squad with 10 doubles...began his career at South Carolina...was a member of the Gamecock program for the 2009-10 school year...did not see any action.

High School: 2009 graduate of Hilton Head High School...2009 South Carolina/North Carolina Select All-Star...2008 & 2009 South Carolina 3A all-state selection...named 2008 & 2009 Beaufort Gazette/Island Packet Player of the Year...rated fifth best high school player in the state by Diamond Prospects and eighth best by PG Crosschecker...went 10-1 with a 1.53 ERA and 82 strikeouts and four complete games in 2009, his senior year...played 2009 summer baseball on 18-U Carolina Cyclones AAU team...member of 2008 17-U Diamond Devils summer team that won the 17-U World Wood Bat Association National Championships as well as the Continental Amateur Baseball Association 18-U Wood Bat World Series, for which he was named most valuable pitcher.

Personal: Full name is Gregory James Harrison...born May 1, 1991...son of Jamie and Patty Harrison....brother, Brian, played third base for Furman for three seasons (2008-10) and was drafted in the 15th-round by the New York Mets...business administration major.
