Andrew Cox is entering his second year as a member of Furman’s coaching staff after joining the program in the fall of 2018 as a volunteer assistant and director of baseball operations.

Cox came to Furman from Clemson, where he played four years for the Tigers and saw duty in 186 games playing infield, outfield, and designated hitter.  In his final campaign with the Tigers in 2017 he played third base and hit .280 with six home runs and 35 RBI en route to earning third team All-Atlantic Coast Conference.  He was the recipient of the 2017 Tiger Baseball Award, given annually to the program’s top leader.

A four-time ACC Academic Honor Roll selection, he graduated from Clemson in May of 2016 with a degree in parks, recreation, and tourism management.

A Greenwood, S.C., native, he was a two-time all-state selection and member of a state championship team at baseball power Belton-Honea Path (S.C.) High School.
