Kaleb Davis

Kaleb Davis joined the Furman program as pitching coach in July of 2016 following the elevation of former pitching coach Brett Harker to head coach.

In three seasons with the Paladins, Davis has proven to be an integral part of the Paladins’ success.

In his first year in Greenville he oversaw a Paladin pitching corps that registered a 4.85 ERA, a full run per game lower than the year before, as well as a program record 421 strikeouts versus only 156 walks — the bases on balls figure the lowest per nine innings ever by a Furman staff.  The strong work by his 2017 pitching staff, headlined by All-SoCon right-hander Will Gaddis (9-3, 1.89 ERA), a third round draft pick of the Colorado Rockies, and left-hander Grant Schuermann (7-4, 4.19 ERA), helped pave the way to a program record tying 33 wins and Southern Conference Tournament runner-up finish.

This past year Davis worked with All-SoCon Freshman Team selection Rob Hughes (5-2, 4.43 ERA, 2 SV)

Davis came to Furman following a three-year tenure as pitching coach/recruiting coordinator at Anderson (S.C.) University, his alma mater.

While at Anderson he helped the Trojans earn their first South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Tournament appearance and victory and coached Landon Beck, the school’s first All-SAC pitcher and 25th round selection of the St. Louis Cardinals in 2014.  Davis also recruited and signed All-SAC and Capital One Academic All-America catcher LJ Newman, as well as all-conference performers Garrett Bernardo and Brock Goodling — the latter of whom led the SAC and ranked in the Top 10 nationally with 12 saves this past spring.

Prior to returning to Anderson following the 2012 season, he served as pitching coach/recruiting coordinator at Point University for one year.

The Orangeburg, S.C., native, who underwent two major arm surgeries during his career with the Trojans, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology in 2011.

He and his wife, the former Jamie Rusnak of Columbia, S.C., have a daughter, Ava Grace.
