2013 — Registered playing time in 33 games and five starts, including four in left field and one as designated hitter...stroked a two-out triple in the ninth inning to drive home Jake Jones and tie Michigan State 3-3, and then scored the game winning run on an Alex Abrams RBI single to give Furman a 4-3 victory over the Spartans in the season opener at Fluor Field...delivered a base hit in an 11-6 road win over Coastal Carolina...singled, swiped second base, and scored in a 7-1 triumph over Davidson...started in left field and doubled in Furman’s 6-5 win over 11th-ranked South Carolina at Fluor Field...named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll.  2012 — Saw action in 38 games and earned 20 starts in the outfield, including 18 in right and two in left...batted .253...went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI in a 7-5 win over Presbyterian...belted a solo home run in an 11-3 series opening victory at UNCG...had two hits, including a double, with an RBI in an 18-2 series opening pasting of Elon...came up big in a 5-4, 12-inning win over Davidson, entering the game in the ninth inning as a pinch runner, stealing second and advancing to third on an error before scoring on a two-out RBI single by Paul Nitto tied the game at 3-3...tied it at 4-4 i n the 11th after drawing a one-out walk, moving to second, and coming around to score on a Jake Jones single...went 4-for-4 on stolen base attempts...named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll.  2011 — Saw action in 25 games and logged four starts in center field in his first season as a Paladin...saw most of his playing time as a pinch-runner...delivered two walks and an RBI double (1-for-3) in a start versus East Tennessee State (12-9 loss)...pinch-ran and scored in a 12-3 victory over The Citadel...named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll. 

High School:  2010 graduate of Palmetto (2A) High School, where he played center field alongside his twin brother and current Paladin teammate, Hunter, who played shortstop...coach was Jody LeCroy...earned team co-MVP, all-conference (for a third time), and all-state honors as a senior after helping Palmetto to a district championship and Upper State runner-up finish...played summer ball with the Upstate Mavericks coached by Chris Nall.

Personal:  Full name is Heath Burton...son of Michael and Stacy Burton...born February 11, 1991, in Anderson, South Carolina, two minutes ahead of his brother, Hunter....health sciences major.
