Biography

Furman: Furman’s most veteran position player (154 starts) who returns in center field...sports outstanding range and a plus arm — among the best in the Southern Conference....boasts a career .990 fielding percentage with only four errrors and 401 career chances...has 17 assists and is 40-for-49 in stolen bases in his career.  2011 — Began the season in right field, where he earned 18 starts, before making the switch to center field for 37 starts....hit. 298 with three home runs and 29 RBI...led the team in stolen bases (16x19) and hit by pitch (13), the third highest season tally in Furman history...made only one error in 160 chances...homered twice as part of a 3-for-4, three-run, career high six-RBI performance against East Tennessee State in Greenville (14-5 win)...hit .464 (13x28) in season’s first seven games and ended the campaign on a nine-game hitting streak (15x34, .441)...went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two stolen bases versus Davidson (8-2 win)...named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll for third straight year. 2010 — Started in all 56 games (the only Paladin to do so), including five in center field and 51 in right field...registered tremendous improvement over his freshman season, upping his batting average 60 points, from .253 to .313 with five home runs and 34 RBI...led Furman with five triples, and 12 doubles tied for the team lead with J.B. Jenkins...also paced the squad in stolen bases (16x18)...fielded at 1.000 clip, successfully handling all 141 chances and tallying five assists...tripled twice, doubled, stole two bases, and scored four runs as part of a 5-for-5 performance in a critical 11-6  road victory over UNC Greensboro on the final weekend of the regular season, helping the Paladins complete a three-game series sweep and secure a SoCon Tournament bid...hit a 3-run home run in an 11-3 victory over the College of Charleston...walked three times and scored a pair of runs in a 6-5 victory over Elon...named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll...hit .266 with two home runs and 29 RBI in 68 games for the Alexandria Beetles of the Northwoods Summer League.

2009  —  Fashioned a solid freshman season, seeing action in 49 games and earning 43 starts, nearly all in right field...hit .253 with six home runs and 27 RBI...fashioned a 10-game hitting streak  (12x34, .352) from Mar. 6-28...six assists led all Paladin outdfielders...also saw limited action at both catcher and pitcher...homered as part of a 2-for-4 performance and collected an assist in Furman’s 6-5 victory over College of Charleston in SoCon Tournament action...belted a three-run, ninth inning home run to center field to help Furman secure a key 12-7, game three series win at Georgia Southern...delivered a game-tying solo home run in the bottom of the 13th inning in Furman’s eventual 11-10, 15-inning triumph over Western Carolina...went 4-for-5 with two RBI and two stolen bases against Longwood (13-8 loss)...collected a season high four RBI (3-for-3) and an assist in an 8-5 win and doubleheader sweep of Presbyterian...homered in Furman’s 8-5 loss to Clemson at Fluor Field...named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll.

High School:  2008 graduate of Westminster (3A) School...coach was Jim Jefferson...served as team captain and hit .465 with 17 doubles, 4 HR, and 25 RBI his senior year...first team all-area and all-city...senior class president...Eagle Scout.
