2012 — Coaches first team preseason All-SoCon squad selection. 2011 — Consensus second team All-SoCon choice in voting by league coaches and media...earned starts in all 11 games...totaled 49 tackles, including 11 for-loss, and team leading five sacks, helping Furman improve from a SoCon worst nine sacks in 2010 to 21...matched a career high with 11 tackles, including two for-loss, against Elon...turned in a strong performance in Furman’s 14-7 road win over Chattanooga, registering seven tackles, two for-loss, a sack, and a forced fumble versus the Mocs...had a pair of sacks as part of a five-tackle performance against Western Carolina (47-21 win)...fumble recovery (and subsequent 12-yard return) came against Presbyterian (62-21 win)...also had sacks against both fifth-ranked Wofford (26-21 win) and Coastal Carolina. 2010 — All-SoCon second team selection in balloting by league media...earned starts in all 11 games, totaling 54 tackles and a team leading 10 tackles for-loss...two sacks led Furman, which totaled a SoCon low nine quarterback takedowns on the season...notched a pair of fumble recoveries, one of which he returned 41 yards to set up a touchdown in a 31-17 victory over Western Carolina...tallied a career high nine tackles, including three stops for-loss versus The Citadel (31-14 win)...collected six stops and a safety versus Elon...two sacks came in season’s first two games: versus Colgate and 13th-ranked South Carolina. 2009 — Used a good preseason and early season injuries to a couple of veterans to land a starting job at defensive end in Furman’s first three games, totaling 10 tackles during that span...went on to tally 24 stops on the season, including four tackles in season ending 58-21 win over Wofford....named to the coaches SoCon All-Freshman team.
High School: 2009 graduate of Great Falls (1A) High School...football coach was Kenneth Schofield...played defensive end and offensive tackle...also served as long snapper....registered 86 tackles, 16 tackles-for-loss, 13 sacks, and two blocked punts as a senior...captured region co-defensive player of the year and High School Sports Report all classification (1A-4A) all-state accolades...selected to play in the South Carolina North-South All-Star Game...helped lead Great Falls to an Upper State championship and state runner-up finish in 2007, his junior year....starter on Great Falls’ 26-2 state runner-up basketball team his senior year.
