Biography

2019 — Initially planned to forego his final year of eligibility and graduate...did not take part in spring practice...decided in March to return for the fall season.

2018 — Appeared in seven games and made five starts at cornerback...starts came in the first two games and in the final three contests...opened the season with two tackles and pass breakup versus Clemson, the eventual national champion...had three tackles and a deflection against The Citadel (28-17 win)...finished the season with three tackle and a career high six PBUs vs. Mercer (35-30 win), helping the Paladins claim a share of the SoCon championship, the 14th in program history.

2017 — Saw action in 10 games and made starts at cornerback in the first five games...tallied 34 tackles and two fumble recoveries...had a career high nine tackles against Elon (34-31 win)...posted six tackles, a fumble recovery, and a pass breakup in his final start against ETSU (56-20 win)... played a key role in Furman’s 8-5 season that netted a FCS playoff berth and No. 19 ranking in the STATS FCS Final Poll...named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll.

2016 — Saw action in all 11 games, contributing on special teams and as a backup cornerback...had three tackles in his collegiate debut against Michigan State...recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff the next week at The Citadel to set up a touchdown...credited with two tackles and two pass deflections in East Tennessee State (52-7 win)...competed with Furman’’s track team...ran the 60m hurdles in the indoor season and clocked a 14.9 to finish fourth in the 110m hurdles at the 2017 SoCon Outdoor Championships...set a new Furman record in the event in qualifying, running a 14.50 to break the previous standard set by Benji Motte in 1987.

2015 — Member of scout team...awarded redshirt and extra year of eligibility.

High School: 2015 graduate of Griffin (4A) High School, where he was a teammate of current Paladin cornerback Jaylon Harden...football coach was Jarrett Laws...played cornerback and wide receiver...saw action in all 25 games over a two-year tenure at Griffin, where he helped the program win two region championships and go 15-0 in 2013 en route to state championship that featured a 56-35 win over Carrollton in title game...participated in the 2014 Florida-Georgia All-Star Game at Delray Beach, Fla., in December...finished third in the state 100m hurdles (14.49) in 2014.

Personal: Full name is Quandarius Deshawn Weems...born February 23, 1997, in Griffin, Georgia...son of Howard and Azizah Weems..has three siblings: Jalen, Jalea, and Kennedy...communications major.
