Drew Singerman Career Records

Senior Year (2020-21):  Singerman scored nine singles victories and seven doubles wins.  Against SoCon competition, he posted four singles wins and three doubles victories.  Singerman played at flight four during the first half of the season, where he recorded victories over Gardner-Webb (6-0, 6-3), UNCG (6-4, 6-4), Kennesaw State (6-2, 7-5), and The Citadel (7-5, 6-4).  He held off Chattanooga (6-4, 4-6 1-0(12-10)) and Mercer (6-3, 7-6(2)) at flight five during the regular season, then he ended the season with a win versus S.C. State (7-5, 6-2) and consecutive victories over Samford (6-1, 6-2) and ETSU (6-2, 6-0) at the SoCon Championships.  In doubles, he teamed with Ivan Mitric to down Davidson, 7-6, at flight two, then moved to flight three to partner with Emil Westling.  The Paladin duo defeated Georgia Southern (6-0), UNCG (6-3), Stetson (7-5), Chattanooga (7-5), and S.C. State (6-1).  The recipient of the John M. Block Academic Achievement Award, Singerman was voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team after posting a 4.0 cumulative GPA for his entire undergraduate career.  He was presented a Winston Babb Memorial Award, which is given by the Furman Chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa to the woman and man in each class who has demonstrated the most outstanding qualities of leadership, scholarship, and service to the university.  Singerman was also named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll, the SoCon Academic All-Conference Team, and the ITA All-Academic Team.

Junior Year (2019-20):  Singerman recorded a 6-6 overall singles record and a 6-4 overall doubles mark in the shortened 2020 spring season.  He posted a 6-2, 6-1 win over Winthrop then defeated Davidson, 6-2, 6-3, both at flight four.  Singerman put together a three-match winning streak versus UNC Asheville (6-0, 3-6, 6-2), College of Charleston (6-1, 6-1), and Pacific (6-2, 6-0).  In doubles, he recorded wins in his first four matches of the season, taking down Gardner-Webb (6-3), Winthrop (6-1), and Davidson (6-2) at flight three before topping North Greenvile, 6-2, in the top-seeded contest.  He teamed with Henrik Atlevi for a 6-2 win over Richmond and a 6-4 victory at Pacific.  Singerman, who holds a 4.0 cumulative GPA, was also named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll, the SoCon Academic All-Conference Team, and the ITA All-Academic Team.  He was inducted into Furman's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.

Sophomore Year (2018-19):  Singerman was voted to the All-Southern Conference second team for singles after posting a perfect 17-0 overall singles record and 5-0 SoCon mark.  He played in the bottom half of the lineup, primarily at flight five, and scored key three-set victories against Davidson (3-6, 6-4, 1-0(10-8)) and Georgia Southern (5-7, 6-4, 1-0(10-8), midseason to preserve his winning streak.  Singerman held off Wofford, 6-0, 5-7, 7-3, in mid-march and came from behind to defeat College of Charleston, 6-7, 7-5, 1-0(10-4) in early April.  Singerman won three-consecutive matches in the SoCon tournament, downing UNCG and Mercer in straight sets before holding on for a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 advantage over ETSU in the championship match.  He teamed with Henrik Atlevi at flight three doubles.  The Paladin duo notched an 11-3 overall record and 4-2 SoCon mark.  Atlevi and Singerman, who won six-straight matches from Feb. 9 through March 20, clinched the doubles point in Furman’s 4-0 victory over Mercer in the SoCon semifinals and won a crucial doubles match over ETSU in the SoCon Championship.  Singerman, who was honored as a member of the CoSIDA Academic All-District team after posting a 4.0 cumulative GPA for the second-consecutive year, was also named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll, the SoCon Academic All-Conference Team, and the ITA All-Academic Team.

Freshman Year (2017-18):  Singerman notched a 13-10 overall singles record and 3-3 league mark, playing primarily at flights three and four.  He put together a six-match winning streak in February, including a 6-4, 7-5 victory over North Greenville in the number one singles position.  Later in the season, Singerman won five out of six matches from March 14 through 31, including a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-3, 1-0(11-9) advantage against Chattanooga.  In the semifinals of the SoCon Championships, he beat Mercer, 6-1, 6-3.  Singerman went 14-10 in doubles with a 4-3 SoCon mark.  He paired with Ivan Mitric to win six out of seven matches beginning Feb. 17 at The Citadel.  After concluding the season with a 7-6 advantage at Mercer, Mitric and Singerman defeated Wofford, 6-2, in the opening round of the SoCon Championships.  Singerman was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and the ITA All-Academic Team.

Prep/Personal:  A five-star recruit by tennisrecruiting.net and the top-ranked player in Kentucky, Drew Singerman helped St. Xavier to eight-straight state championships and a second-place finish at the DecoTurf National High School Tournament in 2016.  The 2015 and 2016 Kentucky Tennis Junior Player of the Year, he was also honored as the Louisville Metro High School Player of the Year in 2016.  A three-time all-state and all-region selection, Singerman also competed in baseball, soccer, basketball, and squash at St. Xavier.  He is a member of the National Honors Society and was on the Principal’s List every quarter.  Andrew Charles Singerman was born on September 25, 1998, in Louisville, Ky.  He is the son of John and Lisa Singerman.  His father, John, played tennis at Syracuse, while his brother, Chris, was a member of the soccer team at Dayton, and his brother, Kevin, played soccer at Louisville.  Singerman graduated with a bachelor's degree in health sciences in 2021.  He is working toward a master's degree in Furman's new community engaged medicine program.
