Ivan Mitric Career Records
Senior Year (2020-21): Mitric was voted to the All-SoCon first team for singles after posting a 13-8 overall record and 2-5 league mark at flight one. He opened the season by winning six of seven matches, with key victories at Davidson (6-4, 6-4) and against Gardner Webb (6-3, 6-7(7), 6-2). He put together four-straight wins against Georgia Southern (4-6, 6-1, 6-3), UNCG (6-3, 6-0), Georgia State (3-6, 6-4, 6-4), and Kennesaw State (6-1, 7-5). Later in the season, Mitric defeated Clemson, 6-3, 6-4, and 72nd ranked Dimitri Badra of ETSU, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. He opened the SoCon Championships with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Samford. In doubles, Mitric scored six victories, all at flight two. He teamed with Drew Singerman to down Davidson, 7-6, to open the season, then combined with James Roelofse for victories over UNCG (7-6(5)) and Stetson (6-1). Mitric concluded the season teaming up with Ben Cahill for three wins, versus Chattanooga (7-5), Mercer (6-3), and S.C. State (6-4). Mitric was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll, the SoCon Academic All-Conference Team, and the ITA All-Academic Team.
Junior Year (2019-20): Mitric went 4-4 overall in singles and in doubles during the shortened 2020 spring season. He scored a 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 victory over Clemson at flight two singles then defeated Winthrop, 6-2, 6-2, also at flight two. Mitric recorded two three-set singles wins over Richmond, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1, at flight four, and Pacific, 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-6) at flight three. In doubles, Mitric and Clarke Wilson teamed up to beat Winthrop (6-0), Richmond (6-3), and UNC Asheville (6-2), all at flight two, then Jake Munns and Mitric defeated Pacific (7-5) at flight one. Mitric was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll, the SoCon Academic All-Conference Team, and the ITA All-Academic Team.
Sophomore Year (2018-19): Mitric was named to the All-Southern Conference first team for both singles and doubles. He played at flight one for the Paladins, where he notched an 11-7 overall singles record and was 4-3 against SoCon competition. Mitric opened the season with a 6-1, 6-2 win over S.C. State and came from behind to defeat Lipscomb, 4-6, 6-1, 6-1. He tallied a seven-match winning streak from February 9 through March 20, where he scored key three-set victories over Georgia Southern and Wofford and held off UNCG, 6-3, 7-6(3). In doubles action, Mitric partnered with Jake Munns at flight one. The Paladin duo scored a 13-4 overall record and went 4-3 versus league foes. Munns and Mitric scored seven-consecutive victories from February 9 through March 16. They blanked USC Upstate to open the streak and held off UNCG, 7-6(2) to keep the streak alive. The Paladin doubles team scored SoCon tournament victories over UNCG and ETSU. Mitric was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and the SoCon Academic All-Conference Team.
Freshman Year (2017-18): Mitric was honored as the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year and named to the SoCon All-Freshman Team after recording a 15-8 overall singles record and 5-2 league mark, playing primarily at flight three. He won five out of seven matches to open the season with non-conference wins over Florida Atlantic, North Florida, College of Charleston, and UNC Asheville. Mitric scored victories in seven of nine matches beginning March 6 versus Valparaiso, including a 6-2, 6-2 win over Clemson at flight three. In the opening round of the SoCon Championships, he beat Wofford, 6-2, 6-0, also at flight three. In doubles action, Mitric was 13-11 overall and 4-3 against league foes. He teamed with Drew Singerman to win six out of seven matches beginning Feb. 17 at The Citadel. After concluding the season with a 7-6 advantage at Mercer, Mitric and Singerman defeated Wofford, 6-2, in the opening round of the SoCon Championships. Mitric was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.
Prep/Personal: Ivan Mitric, who has ranked as high as fourth in Ontario and eighth in Canada, recorded a 19-match winning streak during U16 and U18 Ontario Provincials and National Selections. The ITF Canadian World Ranking Event doubles champion, he was a two-time ITF Canadian World Ranking Event singles and doubles runner up. Mitric played main draw ATP Future matches and was the Ontario Provincial singles champion. A four-time Ontario Provincial doubles champion, he also was a five-time Ontario National Selection champion and placed as high as third at the Canadian Junior Nationals. Mitric speaks three languages: English, French, and Serbian. Ivan Mitric was born on May 1, 1999, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is the son of Zeljko and Jasmina Mitric. His younger brother, Alex, is a nationally ranked tennis player. Mitric graduated with a bachelor's degree in health sciences in 2021. He is working toward a master's degree in Furman's new community engaged medicine program.
