Jake Munns Career Records

Junior year (2018-19):  Munns was named to the All-Southern Conference first team for doubles for the third-consecutive season.  He recorded a 15-4 overall singles record and a perfect 5-0 SoCon mark, playing in the top half of the lineup and primarily at flight three.  Munns put together a 14-match winning streak which started with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Belmont on Feb. 2 and continued through the opening round of the SoCon tournament, where he scored a 6-1, 6-1 victory over UNCG.  In doubles action, Munns partnered with Ivan Mitric at flight one.  The Paladin duo scored a 13-4 overall record and went 4-3 versus league foes.  Munns and Mitric scored seven-consecutive victories from February 9 through March 16.  They blanked USC Upstate to open the streak and held off UNCG, 7-6(2) to keep the streak alive.  The Paladin doubles team scored SoCon tournament victories over UNCG and ETSU.  Munns was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll, the SoCon Academic All-Conference Team, and the ITA All-Academic Team.
 
Sophomore year (2017-18):  Munns was voted to the All-Southern Conference first team for doubles.  He posted a 12-9 overall singles record with a 4-2 league singles mark, playing primarily at flight two, plus a 14-7 overall doubles mark at flight one, with a 5-1 doubles record against SoCon foes.  He opened the season with wins against Florida Atlantic and North Florida.  Munns put together a three-match winning streak beginning March 14 at Rollins and went on to win six out of seven matches through the end of March.  In doubles action, Munns teamed mostly with Cameron Green.  The Paladin duo recorded nine-consecutive wins from the beginning of March through mid-April and scored three-straight wins over Wofford, Mercer, and ETSU, in the SoCon Championships.  Munns was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and the ITA All-Academic Team.

Redshirt freshman year (2016-17):  Munns earned All-Southern Conference first team accolades for doubles and second team honors for singles and was named to the SoCon All-Freshman Team, after redshirting the prior season.  He posted a 16-7 overall singles mark and a perfect 7-0 singles record versus SoCon opponents playing primarily at flight four.  Munns won eight of 10 singles matches midseason before posting seven-straight league victories in March in April.  He held on for a 6-3, 6-7(3), 6-0 victory at Wofford on March 28 then came from behind to defeat UNC Greensboro, 6-7, 7-2, 1-0(10-5), on April 7.  Again on April 10, Munns came from behind to preserve his streak with a 5-7, 6-1, 7-5 advantage over Mercer to end the regular SoCon season.  Munns teamed with Adam Steryous at flight one doubles, posting a 17-4 overall record and unblemished 7-0 mark in SoCon play.  The Paladin duo closed out the season with a ten-match winning streak, beginning with victories over Butler and Duquesne during the team’s Spring Break trip and continuing through the SoCon Tournament, where Munns and Steryous beat Mercer, 7-5, in the semifinals.  Munns was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Freshman year (2015-16):  Munns was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Prep/Personal:  Jake Munns competed for coach Alan Jones at Turnford.  Jake Edmunds John Munns was born on June 24, 1997, in Enfield, Middlesex, to Rebecca and James Munns.  He is studying accounting.
