Biography

Prep/Personal: Marco Aru played under head coach Rachel Causey at Jackson Prep, where he led the team to five state titles.  As team MVP, he was undefeated his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons.  He earned a fourth-place state ranking and a ranking of 76th in the Southeast.  Aru was also a member of the soccer team, the Chess Club, the Spanish Club, Mu Alpha Theta, and the National Honor Society.  Marco Giorgio Aru was born on May 31, 1992, in Cagliari, Sardegna, Italy, to Giorgio and Jan Aru.  His brother, Robbie, is also a member of the Furman men’s tennis team. He intends to major in English.
