Sophomore Year (2009-10): Improved personal bests for 6K to 19:07 and 8K to 26:26...placed among top ten in three meets, with top finish of fifth place at Elon Invitational...placed 35th at SoCon XC Championship with an 8K time of 26:45 and 127th at NCAA Southeast Regionals with a 10K time of 33:25...improved indoor 5,000m personal best to 15:35.65 at Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational and doubled back the next day with a personal best of 8:50.42 in the 3,000 meters...redshirted during the outdoor season.

Freshman Year (2008-09): Ran 20:44 for 6K and 29:07 for 8K in cross country...posted a season-best time of 16:15 in the 5,000m at the SoCon Indoor Championships....lowered his 5,000m outdoor personal-best time to 16:03 for a seventh place finish at the Furman Invitational.

High School: 2007 Oregon Junior Olympic Cross Country champion...earned first-team All-District honors in cross country as a senior and second team honors as a junior...ran on 2006 Junior Olympic Oregon Cross Country team that placed second nationally...ran a time of 16:43 at Nike Pre-Nationals...served as team captain for the Lake Oswego cross country team as a senior...National Merit Scholar semi-finalist.

Personal: Christopher Michael Caldwell was born on March 7, 1990 in Lake Oswego, Ore....son of Michael and Laura Caldwell...mother Laura is a former 800m record holder at Florida State University...father Michael competed in cross country and track at Furman from 1968-1971 and served as co-captain of the cross country team in 1971...majoring in business administration.
