Career: Jennings was voted the 2020-21 Southern Conference Female Athlete of the Year. She garnered a first-team All-America citation in the 3,000m Steeplechase during the outdoor track season after finishing seventh at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, setting a program record of 9:38.24. She went on to compete in the Olympic trials in the event, where she placed 22nd. Â
Jennings, the 2021 Edna Hartness Furman Female Athlete of the Year, recorded personal bests in each of the last four Steeplechase races of her collegiate career. She qualified for the NCAA East Preliminaries in an unprecedented four events (800m, 1,500m, 5,000m, and 3,000m Steeplechase), but focused her efforts on the Steeplechase. In addition to setting program records of 4:12.60 in the 1,500m and 15:33.59 in the 5,000m during 2021 outdoor season, she won the 1,500m and placed second in the 800m at the 2021 SoCon Outdoor Championships.
A three-time All-American in the 3,000m Steeplechase, Jennings also boasts career All-American citations in cross country and indoor track. She holds Furman program records in the indoor mile, plus the outdoor 1,500m 5,000m, 3,000m Steeplechase, and distance medley relay. A three-time NCAA Southeast Region team selection for cross country, she has been honored as an All-SoCon selection in cross country, indoor, and outdoor track.Â
Jennings graduated cum laude with a degree in communications in 2020 then began work on a degree in fine arts during the 2020-21 academic year. She is a member of the SoCon Academic Honor Roll, SoCon Academic All-Conference Team, and USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. A Dean's List honoree, she was the recipient of Furman's 2021 4-D Art Work Award. Jennings volunteers with the Greenville Children's Hospital.
She signed a professional contract to continue her running career with Team Boss and has completed a sponsorship deal with adidas.
Senior Year (2019-2020): Garnered All-American honors with a 20th place finish (20:30.9) at the 2019 NCAA Cross Country Championships...qualified for NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in the mile after posting school record time of 4:37.46 at Camel City Invitational...became only the second indoor All-American in the history of the Furman women’s track and field program...secured the league title in the mile (4:50.77) and finished as runner-up in the 800m (2:07.87) at the SoCon indoor meet...set personal best in 3,000m (9:11.65) at the Husky Classic...recorded second-place finish at the cross country region meet (19:55.0), earning her third career All-Southeast Region honor...finished as runner-up at 2019 SoCon Cross Country Championships with a time of 17:05.9 to lead team to seventh-straight league title...anchored distance medley relay to program record at Vanderbilt Invitational...recorded top-ten finishes at the Bill Dellinger (seventh) and Nuttycombe Invitational (eighth)...opened up the season with back-to-back victories at the Charlotte Cross Country Opener (17:48.0) and Eye Opener (17:10.7)...earned Southern Conference Runner of the Week accolades on three occasions between cross country and indoor track and field seasons...garnered Southern Conference Runner of the Month honors for February.
Junior Year (2018-19): Finished ninth with a time of 9:58.83 in the 3,000m Steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, earning an All-American second team citation…set a Paladin record of 9:47.84 to take third place in the national semifinals of the Steeplechase, punching her ticket through to the finals…competed for Team USA in the Steeplechase at the 2019 NACAC Championships…placed second (9:57.56) in the Steeplechase and 15th in the 5,000m (16:31.30) at the NCAA East Preliminaries…made her third-straight East Prelims appearance and second-consecutive NCAA Championships performance in the Steeplechase…also qualified for the prelims in the 1,500m…finished 16th with a time of 20:24.9, a 6K personal best, at the NCAA Southeast Region Cross Country Championships to earn all-region accolades…established a new program record of 4:40.51, taking second place, in the mile at the SoCon Indoor Championship…a member of the Paladin DMR team that set a new program record at the SoCon Indoor Championships, winning the title with a time of 11:39.35 and earning All-SoCon accolades…named the SoCon Runner of the Week on Sept. 5 after winning the individual title with a time of 17:53.3 at the Eye Opener cross country meet…voted the SoCon Outdoor Track Runner of the Week for April 3 and April 24…chosen the SoCon Outdoor Track Runner of the Month for March…claimed All-SoCon first team honors with a fourth place finish at the SoCon Cross Country Championships…also earned All-SoCon honors in the mile and 5,000m indoors and in the 5,000m and the 3,000m Steeplechase during the outdoor season…finished seventh with a time of 16:55.5 at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Cross Country Invitational…won the 3,000m with a time of 9:26.05, a personal best, at the Iowa State Indoor Classic…took the 5,000m title with a personal-best time of 16:12.15 at the Tennessee Relays…claimed gold in the 3,000m Steeplechase at the Cardinal Classic (9:57.41) and the Raleigh Relays (9:59.54)…won the 5,000m (16:36.05) and placed second in the 3,000m Steeplechase (10:06.25) at the SoCon Outdoor Championships…named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.
Sophomore Year (2017-18): Earned All-America honorable mention accolades after placing 20th with a time of 10:18.10 in the 3,000m Steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Championships…placed fourth in her heat with a time of 10:02.67 in the event, a school record at the time, to reach the NCAA Championships…qualified for the NCAA East Preliminaries after recording a time of 10:10.41 for sixth place in the 3,000m Steeplechase at the Payton Jordan Invitational…earned All-Southeast Region honors for cross country after finishing tenth with a time of 20:34.2…competed at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, where she placed 60th with a time of 20:25.19…named to the All-SoCon first team after finishing fourth with a time of 16:55.1 at the league cross country championships…a member of the Paladin distance medley relay team that set a new school record of 11:52.94 at the SoCon Indoor Championships…placed third in the mile (4:55.14) at the league indoor meet and third in the 3,000m Steeplechase at the league outdoor meet…finished fourth with a time of 4:32.36 in the 1,500m at the SoCon Outdoor Championships…won the mile with a personal-best time of 4:46.18 at the Samford Indoor Invite.
Freshman Year (2016-17): Set a new Paladin outdoor record with a time of 4:21.68 in the 1,500m at the Tiger Outdoor Track Classic…competed at the NCAA East Preliminaries in the 3,000m Steeplechase, where she placed 18th with a time of 10:15.12…named to the SoCon All-Freshman team for cross country, indoor track (mile and 3,000m), landed a spot on the All-SoCon first team after placing fifth with a time of 17:02.4 at the SoCon Cross Country Championships…finished fifth at the Furman Cross Country Invitational (21:37.3) and sixth at the Eye Opener Cross Country Invitational (18:23.2)…placed fourth in both the mile (4:57.30) and the 3,000m (9:40.11) at the SoCon Indoor Championships…advanced to the finals of the mile with the third-best qualifying time, 5:06.46…finished second in the 3,000m Steeplechase (10:25.40) and the 1,500m (4:29.97) at the SoCon Outdoor Championships…won the 1,500m with a time of 4:21.68 at the Tiger Outdoor Track Classic…qualified for the NCAA East Preliminaries with a time of 10:25.02 in the 3,000m Steeplechase at the Raleigh Relays, where she finished fourth.
