Junior Year (2015-16): Martin recorded a 13-10 overall mark and 5-2 SoCon record at flight three singles. She put together a six-match winning streak midseason, beginning with a 6-4, 7-6 victory at Cal State Northridge. Martin posted straight-set conference wins over Mercer, Wofford, UNCG, and Samford during the regular season then defeated Western Carolina, 6-2, 6-4, in the first round of the SoCon Championships. Martin teamed with Gabby Rodriguez at flight two doubles. The Paladin duo earned All-SoCon second team honors after posting a 17-2 overall record and perfect 7-0 league mark. Martin and Rodriguez earned 11-consecutive wins to end the season, including a 6-3 victory over Samford in the second round of the league tournament. Martin was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.
Sophomore Year (2014-15): Martin tallied a 10-12 overall singles record and a 6-1 league singles mark, playing mostly in the flight three spot. She won six-consecutive matches beginning on March 29 at Chattanooga and continuing through the Paladins’ regular-season finale versus UNCG. Martin won three tie-breakers over the span, scoring straight-set victories over Chattanooga, Western Carolina, Mercer, Wofford, ETSU, and UNCG. In doubles play, she teamed with Alejandra Gil at flight two throughout the conference season. The Paladin duo won three-straight matches versus Western Carolina, Mercer, and Wofford. Martin was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.
Freshman Year (2013-14): Martin was named to the All-Southern Conference second team for both singles and doubles and was honored as a member of the SoCon All-Freshman Team. She played in the bottom half of the Paladin singles lineup, where she recorded an 11-5 overall record and an 8-1 conference mark. Martin notched a 7-6(4), 6-3 win at flight six to break open a 3-3 tie as the Paladins remained unbeaten in Southern Conference play with a crucial 4-3 victory over #71 Samford on March 29. She put together a 10-match singles winning streak to end the season, helping the Paladins to their first SoCon regular season title since 2009, as Furman went 9-0 in league play and closed out the regular season with a nine-match winning streak heading into the SoCon Championship. In doubles play, Martin teamed with Ansley Speaks for a 15-4 overall record and 8-0 league mark primarily in the number two spot. The Paladin duo put together a nine-match wining streak from March 21-April 10 and won 16 of 17 matches completed between February 8 and April 10. She also combined with Margaret Boyette for an 8-2 victory over Western Carolina at flight two doubles. Martin was named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll.
Prep/Personal: Blair Martin ranked 90th and earned a four-star recruiting level on tennisrecruiting.net. She was honored as the 2011, 2012, and 2013 player of the year by both the Tampa Tribune and the Tampa Times after winning three-conseuctive #1 doubles championships and guiding Plant to three-straight 4A state crowns. Martin, who reached the finals of the singles state championship as a senior, won the state championship at number two singles as a freshman then recorded undefeated regular seasons at number one singles as a sophomore and junior. She was honored at a Tampa Bay Rays baseball game after being named the Brighthouse Sports Network Player of the Week in 2013. Martin is a member of the National Honor Society, the Beta Honor Society, and the Anchor Service Club. She played softball until the age of 13, helping her team to a berth in the Little League World Series in Seattle, Wash., where the team placed fifth internationally. Blair Allyson Martin was born on April 10, 1995, in Tampa, Fla., to Charlie and Robyn Martin. Her father was a member of the baseball team at Broward Community College, while her grandfather, Bob Bondi, played baseball at Florida State, and her grandfather, Virgil Martin, captained the baseball team at Florida. She is undecided on her major.
