Karlee Bryde Career Records

Junior Year (2015-16):  Bryde posted a 13-11 overall singles record and a 5-2 league mark, playing primarily at flight four.  She won seven of eight matches mid-season, beginning with a come from behind 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 victory at Cal State Northridge.  She posted straight-set nonconference victories over #73 South Alabama, USC Upstate, Coastal Carolina, Lenoir-Rhyne, and IUPUI.  Bryde downed Western Carolina, 6-0, 7-5, in the opening round of the Southern Conference Tournament.  In doubles play, Bryde teamed with Harper Caswell to earn All-Southern Conference second team accolades at flight three, after posting a 16-7 overall record and 6-1 league mark.   The Paladin duo won 10 of their last 11 matches, including victories over Western Carolina and Samford in the Southern Conference Championships.  She was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and the Academic All-SoCon Team.  

Sophomore Year (2014-15):  Bryde recorded a 10-13 overall singles mark and 4-3 league singles record, playing primarily at flight four.  She won six out of seven matches to end the season, recording straight-set regular season victories over Western Carolina, Mercer, Wofford, and UNCG then downed UNCG and Samford in SoCon Tournament play.  In doubles action, Bryde teamed primarily with Harper Caswell at flight three, picking up regular season SoCon wins over Samford and Mercer, and beating UNCG, 8-6, in the opening round of the Southern Conference Tournament.  She was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and the Academic All-SoCon Team.  

Freshman Year (2013-14):  Bryde earned a spot on the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team after recording a 13-9 overall singles record and 6-2 league mark, playing primarily in the middle of the singles lineup.  She held on for a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) victory at flight five to lead the Paladins to a 4-3 win over East Tennessee State in the team’s season opener, then on March 1, Bryde recorded a thrilling three-set 7-6, 4-6, 6-4 victory over Winthrop at flight four, breaking a three-all tie and leading Furman to a 4-3 team win.  She notched a 6-1, 6-4 win over #71 Samford at flight four mid-way through the conference season, helping the Paladins to a crucial SoCon victory.  Bryde won six of her last eight singles matches and put together a four-match winning streak from April 2 to April 17. She helped the Paladins to their first SoCon regular season title since 2009, as Furman went 9-0 in league play and closed out the regular season with a nine-match winning streak heading into the SoCon Championships. In doubles, she teamed with Amanda Murray at flight three to post a 7-2 overall mark and 6-1 record versus league opponents.  The Paladin duo defeated #71 Samford, 8-4, and won seven of its last nine matches.  Bryde was named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll.

Prep/Personal:  Karlee Bryde was a four-star recruit and ranked 95th nationally by tennisrecruiting.net.  She was honored has her Lambert team’s MVP as a freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior after leading the team to three region championships and an appearance in the state championship finals.  In USTA competition, Bryde was a singles semifinalist in the 2011 National 16’s and both the 2012 Columbus Bullfrog and the Mobile Southern Closed tournaments.  She reached the doubles finals in the 2011 National 16’s and the 2012 Mobile Southern Closed competitions.  Bryde won sportsmanship awards at six USTA events andnotched a 4.1 GPA.  Karlee Angel Bryde was born on August 19, 1995, in Atlanta, Ga., to Bruce and Kathi Bryde.  She intends to study business.
