Biography
Freshman Year (2023-24): Hitchcock was selected to the SoCon All-Freshman team and chosen to the All-SoCon first team for doubles. She teamed with Ellie Schulson, and the Paladin duo went 5-2 in league play at flight one. Hitchcock and Schulson put together a six-match winning stream mid-season beginning with a 6-1 victory over Quinnipiac on March 11 and continuing through the March 30 match versus Chattanooga, which Furman won in a tie breaker, 7-6(5). The Paladin top doubles team won, 6-4, over Western Carolina to open the SoCon tournament. At the Blue Gray tournament, Hitchcock and Schulson played at flight two, where they defeated No. 26 Yale and Tulsa, both 6-1. In singles, Hitchcock posted a 4-0 record at flight four and was 10-8 at flight five. She went 6-1 against SoCon foes and put together a seven-match winning streak from March 11 through April 2. Hitchcock came from behind to defeat Marshall, 3-6, 6-3, 1-0(10-7) and won in straight sets versus Harvard and Liberty. She defeated Tulsa, 6-1, 6-1, to conclude the Blue Gray Tournament, and beat Samford, 6-4, 6-2, in the SoCon semifinals. Hitchcock was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and was honored as an ITA Scholar-Athlete.
Prep/Personal: Hitchcock, a five-star recruit by tennisrecruiting.net, ranked as high as 46th nationally and was the third-ranked player in Ohio. She was a three-time state champion, having won consecutive singles titles in 2020 and 2021 and a doubles title in 2021 under the direction of her father and coach, John Hitchcock, at Eaton High. Hitchcock also was a silver ball winner in doubles at nationals as a 14s. She is majoring in health sciences.
