Junior Year (2011-12): Stanford recorded a 9-12 overall singles mark and 5-3 league record after starting the season in the number three position and moving to number two singles for the majority of the year. Stanford put together a five-match winning streak mid-season, posting non-conference wins over Loyola Marymount and East Carolina then opening the SoCon season with three-straight wins over Georgia Southern, Appalachian State, and Samford. Overall, she won seven out of eight matches from March 10-31 after picking up straight-sets wins over Wofford and Elon to end the month. Stanford went 11-10 overall and 5-3 in the league in doubles play, teaming with Amanda Murray in the number three spot for most of the season. She teamed with Alex Moreno-Kaste in the top doubles position to end the season, putting together a three-match win streak with victories over UNC Greensboro, College of Charleston, and Appalachian State in April.
Sophomore Year (2010-11): Stanford notched a 10-9 overall singles record and a 6-3 league singles mark, playing in the bottom half of the lineup. She opened the season with a 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (11-9) victory at number six singles at #9 Clemson. Stanford appeared at number four singles in one match for the Paladins, a 6-2, 6-2 win over Western Carolina. At number five singles, she boasted a 5-1 mark against SoCon foes, defeating Wofford, Chattanooga, Appalachian State, Elon, and Davidson. In the Southern Conference Tournament, she posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at number six over Elon and a 6-3, 6-1 victory, also in the number six spot, over College of Charleston. In doubles matches, Stanford tallied a 5-11 overall mark and 4-4 league record.
Freshman Year (2009-10): Stanford saw significant playing time in the middle of the singles lineup as a freshman, posting a 10-14 overall singles record and a 6-4 league mark. She recorded wins over Presbyterian and UNC Asheville at number three singles. Stanford tallied a victory Samford in the number four singles match in the first round of the Southern Conference tournament. In doubles action, Stanford teamed with fellow rookie Olivia Maurice for a 5-4 league mark at number three doubles. She combined with Jessica Preeg for a victory against Presbyterian at number one doubles.
Prep/Personal: Michele Stanford trained at the Racquet Club of the South in Atlanta, Ga., under coach Brian Devillers, where she compiled rankings of 11th in Georgia, 29th in the South and 304th nationally. A native of Canton, Ga., Michele Lee Stanford was born on April 16, 1991, to William and Michele Stanford and was homeschooled. She is undecided on her major.
