Abigail Casillas

Abigail Casillas was named Furman’s associate athletic trainer in June of 2026. She will work with the Paladins’ men’s basketball and men’s golf programs.

A Greenville native, Casillas returns to her hometown following a stint as the men’s basketball term professional for Vanderbilt University Medical Center from 2025-26. She worked primarily with the men’s basketball program, serving as the nutritional liaison during road trips, and assisted with both football and women’s basketball.

Prior to working at Vanderbilt, Casillas worked numerous athletic training clinical experiences at Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Lakeside High School, and North Forsyth High School. She also worked during that time as a patient services representative at Elite Integrated Therapy Centers in Greenville.

As an undergraduate at Bob Jones, she worked in the university’s Human Performance Lab as a lab assistant. Casillas followed in 2022 working as a rehabilitation technician at Advanced Therapy Solutions, Kids! in Greenville.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from Bob Jones University in 2023 before receiving her Master’s of Science in athletic training from the University of North Georgia in 2025.

Casillas is certified in CPR/AED, QPR, Dry Needling, Stop the Bleed, and is a licensed athletic trainer in Georgia and Tennessee.
