Ben Schram

Ben Schram was announced as Furman’s new Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development on August 13, 2025 by Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Jason Donnelly.

Schram comes to Furman following two and a half years at Georgia Southern and two years at Lipscomb, serving in athletic leadership roles at both institutions.  At both Georgia Southern and Lipscomb, Schram played an instrumental role in leading numerous fundraising efforts for individual teams as well as the athletic department as a whole.  At Furman, he will provide strategic vision and oversight of athletics fundraising operations.

"We are thrilled to welcome Ben Schram as our new Senior Associate AD for Athletics Development," said Donnelly.  "Ben brings exceptional energy, experience and expertise in athletics fundraising and is highly respected by his peers across the industry.  His proven track record in building strong donor relationships and driving impactful development initiatives will be a tremendous asset to Furman Athletics."

"I am honored to be joining the Furman family and to be part of such a tradition-rich program," said Schram.  "I extend my thanks to Jason Donnelly and the search committee for this opportunity and their confidence in me.  I look forward to serving our student-athletes, coaches, passionate alumni, and the Greenville community that makes Furman such a special place."

At Georgia Southern, Schram served as Assistant Athletic Director for Major Gifts before being elevated to associate AD in March of this year.  He led a team of three major gift officers who increased the total athletic dollars raised for four-consecutive fiscal years, with $12.99M raised in fiscal year 2024.  He personally identified, cultivated, and solicited major gift commitments, adding to the Eagles' $6.5M in major gift contributions in fiscal year 2025.  In addition to meeting with prospects and donors, Schram served as both the sport supervisor for the Eagles' women's tennis program and as the athletic foundation liaison for four athletic programs, assisting with program-specific fundraising initiatives.

Prior to his time in Statesboro, Schram was promoted to director of Lipscomb's National Bison Club after serving as the department's external operations coordinator since 2020.  Under his direction, Lipscomb reached new heights in annual support, with the program's 2022 annual day of giving marking a 300 percent increase in donors.

A native of Wilmington, N.C., Schram earned a bachelor's degree in sport administration from Samford in 2019 and was awarded a master's degree, also in sport administration, from Belmont in 2021.

Schram and his wife, the former Breanna Broadrick of Nashville, Tenn., are parents of a daughter, Lettie.
