Former Paladin Elijah Portitzky is in his first season as a graduate assistant coach for the Furman men’s tennis program.
A native of Palma de Mallorca, Spain, Poritzky played for head coach J.J. Whitlinger from 2022-25, compiling 36 doubles victories and 34 singles wins. He was a SoCon All-Freshman Team selection in 2022 and, in 2024, earned first team All-SoCon accolades in singles and second team honors in doubles.
Poritzky was named SoCon Player of the Week five times throughout his career and logged top 100 singles wins against No. 37 North Carolina in 2024 and Clemson in 2025. He led the team with 13 doubles victories in 2023 after going 13-8 and followed with 10 wins in 2024. Poritzky won a career best 11 singles victories in 2022.
He graduated from Furman in 2025 with a degree in communication studies.
