Julie Paré began her career in sports information as a student assistant at Furman in 1993 before returning in 2009. She was promoted to assistant athletic director for athletic communications in 2023 and associate athletic director for athletic communications in 2026. She is responsible for publicity efforts for the Paladin women’s tennis, women's and men's golf, and cross country and track and field teams.

Following an internship with the Paladin sports information department after graduation, Paré went on to work in the sports information offices at Marshall, Miami University, and Clemson.

A native of Landrum, S.C., Paré graduated from Furman in 1996 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science.  She and her husband, Chris, a former athletic trainer on the Furman sports medicine staff, are parents of a son, Jackson, and a daughter, Hayden.
