Furman's Lady Paladin volleyball team fell to 8-12 overall and 3-5 in the Southern Conference with a 3-0 (30-20, 30-25, 30-21) loss to the Mountaineers of Appalachian State Saturday night in Boone, N.C.
ASU, which currently leads the SoCon's North Division with a 15-6 overall mark and 7-1 league record, recorded 14.0 team blocks to Furman's 6.0, thereby holding the Lady Paladin offense to a .028 attack percentage.
Julia Fredrickson and Ally Hock were Furman's top kills producers with seven each, but Hock recorded six errors and Fredrickson totaled four, while Whitney Purser had nine errors on six kills for a -.120 hitting percentage on the night.
Appalachian State, by comparison, hit .222 for the match with Dianna Thomas tallying 14 kills on 22 attempts with just four errors for a .455 attack percentage. The team as a whole hit .222.
Furman will return to action this Saturday when the Lady Paladins host East Tennessee State at 2 p.m. in Alley Gym.
