Box Score Greenville, S.C. – Brooks Duff, a member of the Furman men's soccer team, has been selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District III First Team, it was announced on Tuesday.
Duff, a native of Evans, Ga., has tallied three goals while appearing in all 17 matches and making four starts for the Paladins this season. The forward notched the match-winning goal on a bending 30-yard short in overtime versus Stetson in September that gave Furman the Diadora/Spinx Furman Invitational title. Later in the month, Duff scored in the final minutes to force overtime at Georgia Southern before firing a shot into the far-side netting in the extra period to lift Furman to a 2-1 road victory in its SoCon opener.
A Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll member, Duff sports a 3.80 GPA and is majoring in chemistry.
By earning all-district honors, the senior will now be included on the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot.
Furman, 7-6-4 overall and 3-1-2 in SoCon play, closes out its regular season tonight at Wofford. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
