Box Score 2 WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sophomore Chandler Ambrester tallied
seven kills to lead the Furman volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-13,
25-23, 25-13) victory over Binghamton Saturday morning in the
Paladins' second match of the Georgetown Classic in
Washington, D.C. The win extends Furman's winning
streak to three matches.
Furman built a quick lead at the start of the match, taking
control off 10 Paladin service aces and only 10 hitting errors for
the match. Junior Kelly Kirby and sophomore Natalie Braun
each recorded three service aces, while freshman Amanda Komisarow
added two additional aces for the Paladins.
Kirby hit .625 with five kills, while Braun led the team with
eight digs and added six kills for Furman. Freshman setter
Sarah McCarthy paced the Paladins with 16 assists in the
victory.
Furman (5-6) will face tournament host Georgetown Saturday at 7
p.m.
