Burlington, Iowa – The Furman men's
golf team fired a 15-over 303 on Monday to remain in 14th place
after two rounds at the Golfweek Conference Challenge at the par-72
Spirit Hollow Golf Course.
Sophomore Johnny Kyger (75-73=148) posted the low round of the
day for Furman with a one-over 73 while Matt Broome (71-76=147)
continued to lead the Paladins at three-over par for the
tournament. Broome, a junior from Barrington, R.I., holds a
share of 36th after 36 holes.
Vince India (70-66=136) of Iowa used a second round 66 to
improve to take a one-stroke lead at eight-under par. The
Iowa Hawkeyes (268-285=553) hold a 19-stroke advantage on second
place North Carolina State and Campbell following Monday's
second round.
Final round action in the 15-team, 54-hole tournament is set for
Tuesday morning.
