Furman Maintains No. 25 Ranking In CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll

Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's basketball team, winners of seven of its last eight games, maintained its No. 25 ranking in this week's CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll, it was released on Monday afternoon.

The Paladins improved to 10-3 with an 82-55 win over UVA-Wise on Monday that followed a 75-62 triumph over Colonial Athletic Association member Northeastern in the consolation game of the UCF Holiday Classic last Thursday in Orlando, Fla.

The poll, in its 12th year of existence, includes teams from the America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South Big West, Colonial, Great West, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt and West Coast conferences.  A panel of 31 coaches from the included conferences vote in the weekly poll.

Furman made its first appearance ever in the Mid-Major Top 25 on December 27, following the Paladins' 91-75 victory over Southeastern Conference foe South Carolina.  The win marked Furman's fifth straight victory.

The Paladins host SoCon rival College of Charleston, ranked No. 18 in the latest Mid-Major Poll, on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Timmons Arena.
