Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. -- Senior Austin Reeves (+3) carded a first round 75 to lead Furman (+18) into 12th place on Sunday morning in the John Hayt Intercollegiate at the par-72, 6,977-yard Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

The Greenville, S.C., native notched two birdies while shooting a one-over 37 on the back nine and two-over 38 on the front to move into a share of 24th place after 18 holes of the 54-hole tournament.  Fellow senior Matt Broome (+4) birdied three of his final four holes to grab a share of 30th place at four-over 76 and junior Matt Brown (+5) posted a first round 77 to hold 40th place.

UCF (+6) took a one-stroke lead of Tennessee (+7) and two-stroke advantage over third place Coastal Carolina (+8) on Sunday.  Furman, in 12th, is 12 strokes off of the lead in a 15-team field that includes nine of the top 50 teams in the nation.

LSU's Sang Yi fired a first round 67 to grab a one-stroke lead over a group of three golfers tied for second at four-under par.  A total of 11 golfers shot par or better during first round play.

Round two of the John Hayt Intercollegiate is set for Monday morning with Furman scheduled to tee-off from the back nine beginning at 8:45.  Final round action is slated for Tuesday.
