Box Score

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman's women's basketball team will conclude the first leg of its Southern Conference schedule Saturday when it plays host to first place Chattanooga in a 2:00 p.m. contest at Timmons Arena.

The Paladins (11-11, 4-2 SoCon) are coming off a 74-64 home loss to East Tennessee State on Thursday, while the Mocs (12-8, 6-0 SoCon) used a strong fourth quarter to pull away from Wofford in Spartanburg on Thursday, 71-61.

Furman heads into the contest tied for third in the league standings with ETSU.

Senior point guard Whitney Bunn was Furman's bright spot in the loss to ETSU, scoring a team high 25 points on the strength of 7-for-13 shooting from 3-point range.  Bunn paces the Paladins and ranks fourth in the SoCon in scoring (15.6 ppg), fifth in 3PFG% (.374), third in FT% (.790), and fourth in assists (4.5 apg).  Her 25-point display against ETSU helped her become only the sixth player in Furman history to top the 1,500-point plateau (1,513), seven points behind of former teammate Holli Wilkins (1,520).

Chattanooga sports a balanced attack led by senior center Jasmine Joyner, who averages 12.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 4.5 blocks per game.  Redshirt senior guard Qeen Alford (10.8 ppg) and junior Chelsea Shumpert (10.7 ppg) round out  the Mocs' trio of double figure scorers.
