Box Score Greenville, S.C. – Le'Jzae Davidson poured in 22 points on 7-of-8 shooting (3-for-3 from three) to lead Furman women's basketball to a 78-67 victory inside Timmons Arena on Saturday afternoon. Tierra Hodges finished the day on 6-of-7 shooting for 15 points, while Taylor Petty added 13.
Furman used a 26-11 first quarter, paced by Le'Jzae Davidson's 10 points, to open a lead that USC Upstate could not overcome. Furman held a lead as large as 31 in the third quarter, thanks mainly to eight-straight points from Davidson, Kirisome, and Taborn, before USC Upstate cut the lead to 18 to open the fourth. The Spartans continued to chip away at the lead, but the Paladins made seven three throws down the stretch to hold off a USC Upstate comeback, taking the 78-67 victory.
The Paladins are back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Starkville, Miss., to take on Mississippi State.
