Asheville, N.C. -- Emery May scored his second goal of the season for Furman, but UNCA netted a late equalizer to forge a 1-1 draw with the Paladins in men's soccer action on Saturday night at Greenwood Field.

May put the Paladins on the board in the 18th minute, taking a pass from Conor Sloan and firing into the right-side netting at the 17:48 mark.

The Paladins, who outshot the Bulldogs 22-13, looked on their way to a victory before Asheville knotted the match at 1-1 in the 87th minute. Miles Peay played a cross into the box from the left wing and Taylor Durall flicked a header past Paladin goalkeeper Ben Hale for his second goal of the season at 86:11.

Furman (4-4-1) posted three shots in the first overtime period, but were held without a shot over the final 10-minute period in its first draw of the season. Despite the Paladins holding a large edge in total shots, UNCA (1-7-2) recorded a 5-2 advantage in shots on target.

Hale notched four saves for the Paladins, while Tyler Moore turned away one shot for the Bulldogs.

Furman travels to face USC Upstate in Spartanburg, S.C., on Tuesday evening before hosting North Greenville on Thursday night at Stone Stadium.
