Lexington, Va. – Furman netted three first half goals to cruise past VMI, 3-0, in Southern Conference men's soccer action Tuesday afternoon at Patchin Field in Lexington, Va.
With the victory, Furman improved to 8-5-1 overall and remained unbeaten in league play at 2-0-0. The Keydets fell to 1-11-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the SoCon.

Rocky Guerra put the Paladins in front with his first goal of the season at the 7:01 mark and setup
Jack Shiels goal off of a corner kick at 39:02. Just 47 seconds later VMI was whistled for a foul in the box and
Conor Sloan converted from the penalty spot for his fourth goal of the season to extend the Paladin lead to 3-0 at intermission.
The Paladins outshot the Keydets 24-6, including a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal. Furman earned 14 corner kicks, while surrendering just four to VMI.
Goalkeeper
Max Fisher recorded two saves for the Paladins to earn his second straight shutout and third this season. VMI's Broden Schull stopped six shots in a losing effort for the Keydets.
