Greenville, S.C. – Furman midfielder Laurence Wyke has signed to play for Atlanta United 2 in the USL Championship, it was announced by the club on Wednesday.
Wyke, a native of Bolton, England, netted seven goals, including five match-winning scores this past season to help the Paladins to a 13-7-2 record, Southern Conference Tournament title and NCAA Tournament second round appearance. In addition to earning All-SoCon honors, the senior was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region squad. He also earned United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region and Scholar All-American honors.
In the SoCon Tournament semifinals, Wyke scored an overtime goal to advance Furman to the league finals. He helped guide the Paladins to a 3-0 victory over UNCG in the SoCon championship match, Furman's third league crown in five years, before converting from the penalty spot as Furman advanced past UNCW in a penalty shootout in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
A two-time All-SoCon selection, Wyke garnered SoCon Player of the Year honors in 2017.
