Furman Men's Basketball Announces Home Opener Versus Loyola Chicago

Greenville, S.C. – Furman men's basketball, coming off of a school-record 25 wins and an NIT appearance last season, will open its 2019-20 home schedule on Friday, November 8, when it hosts Missouri Valley Conference power and 2018 NCAA Final Four participant Loyola Chicago at Timmons Arena.

The home opener marks a rematch of last season's thriller in Chicago, Ill., when Furman's Clay Mounce took a Matt Rafferty pass and finished a thunderous dunk with one second remaining to lift the Paladins past the Ramblers, 60-58, at Gentile Arena. The victory helped catapult head coach Bob Richey's Paladins to a 12-0 start, which also featured an overtime victory at 2016 & 2018 national champion Villanova, and the school's first appearance in the Associated Press Top 25.

Furman's full 2019-20 schedule is set to be released on FurmanPaladins.com Thursday, September 12.
