Men's Soccer Drops Road Contest At Presbyterian, 3-0

Paladins Host Charlotte On Tuesday At 7 p.m.

Clinton, S.C. – Cesar Sancho registered a hat trick to lead Presbyterian past Furman men's soccer, 3-0, in non-conference action Saturday evening at Martin Stadium in Clinton, S.C.
 
The Blue Hose (2-7-0) went on the attack early, forcing Paladin goalkeeper in to three saves in the opening 12 minutes of play, including a diving stop in the first minute. Presbyterian broke the deadlock at the 41:49 mark when Luca Zeigler lofted a corner kick to the far side of the box and Sancho flicked a shot over the head of Fisher.
 
In the 58th minute, Fisher came off of his line to collected a ball in the air, but crashed into his own defender allowing Sancho to head his shot into an empty net at 57:12. Sancho capped the scoring for the Blue Hose at 70:58 when another loose ball fell to the forward on the left side of the box and his low strike found net.
 
Mark Zavalkov stopped three shots to record the shutout in goal for Presbyterian, while Fisher finished with five saves for the Paladins.
 
PC produced a 14-12 edge in total shots and an 8-3 margin in shots on target.
 
Furman (5-4-1) returns home on Tuesday when it entertains 11th-ranked Charlotte at Stone Stadium at 7 p.m.
