Greenville, S.C. – Furman men's basketball concludes the first half of its Southern Conference schedule when the Paladins visit McAlister Fieldhouse for a 1 p.m. tip-off versus The Citadel on Saturday in Charleston, S.C.

Furman improved to 16-5 overall and 6-2 in league play on Wednesday with a 101-78 victory over the Samford Bulldogs at Timmons Arena. The Paladins dished out 30 assists, the second most in school history, and matched a school record for three-point baskets versus a Division I opponent with 17 as they built a 31-point advantage en route to the victory.
Senior
Jordan Lyons drained six triples to lead Furman with 21 points, while sophomores
Noah Gurley and
Mike Bothwell contributed 19 and 16 points, respectively. Sophomore
Jalen Slawson scored a career-high 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting to go with seven rebounds, four assists, three steals and three blocked shots.
Clay Mounce and
Alex Hunter added 11 points apiece to give the Paladins six players in double figures.
Furman and The Citadel will be meeting for the 212
th time with the Paladins holding a 124-87 series lead. The Paladins have won six of the last seven meetings and swept last season's encounters by downing the Bulldogs, 101-85, in Greenville before claiming a 71-61 victory in Charleston on January 31, 2019.
The Citadel dropped to 6-12 overall and 0-7 in SoCon play with a 92-69 loss at Chattanooga on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs have lost seven straight games since a triple overtime victory at Longwood on December 19.
Following Saturday's contest in Charleston, S.C., Furman goes for its 10
th consecutive win at Timmons Arena when it hosts the VMI Keydets on Wednesday, January 29, at 7 p.m.
