Anna Morgan

MELBOURNE, FLA. -- Furman freshman Anna Morgan (-8) holds a four-stroke lead over the field at the completion of Monday's play at the Moon Golf Invitational at the par 72, 6,262 yard Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Fla.

The teams were scheduled to play 36 holes on Monday, but the morning round was delayed due to fog in the area.  The tournament was halted with one hole to play because of darkness and will resume Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.  The final round of the 54-hole tournament will begin immediately after the conclusion of round two, and pairings will remain the same for the final round.

A native of Spartanburg, S.C., Morgan fired a career-best 67 with a team-high six birdies in Monday's opening round and is 3-under with five birdies through 17 holes in round two.  Morgan leads Minori Nagano (-4) of Seminole State and Alabama's Polly Mack (-4) by four strokes heading into Tuesday's play.

Senior Natalie Srinivasan (-1) is tied for 11th.  She carded a 1-under 71 with three birdies in Monday's first round and sits at even par with four birdies with two holes to play in round two.  Sophomore Kyra Cox (+7) shot a 78 with two birdies in round one then rebounded to score a 73 with three birdies in the day's second round.  She is tied for 56th after the first day of play.

Junior Carly Burkhardt (+8) notched  a 74 with two birdies in round one and is 6-over so far in round two to tie for 62nd, while senior Marra Burton (+19) is tied for 88th after posting an 83 in Monday's opening round and sitting at 8-over with a birdie on No. 7 in round two.

Junior Caitlin Cotterill, who is playing as an individual, is tied for 33rd.  She carded a 73 in each round with three birdies in round one and two birdies in the second round.

Just two strokes separate the top seven teams.  Four teams, Seminole State (-1), 38th-ranked Louisville (-1), No. 34 North Carolina (-1), and 12th-ranked Ole Miss (-1) are tied for the lead, with Coastal Carolina (E) and No. 9 Alabama (E), just one stroke back at even par.  No. 50 Augusta (+1) sits in seventh place, just two strokes back of the leaders, while 31st-ranked Furman (+6) is in eighth place.
