Furman Leads Coach Mo Classic Entering Tuesday's Final Round

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- After Monday's opening two rounds, the Furman (+4) women's golf team leads the second annual Coach Mo Classic at the par 72, 6,505 yard St. John's Golf and Country Club.

The Paladins are co-hosting the tournament with North Florida in honor of Furman alum Mo Geasualdi, who is a teaching professional at St. John's and is a tremendous teacher and junior golf leader.

Furman leads 16th-ranked Florida State (+6) and Purdue (+6) by two strokes with 18 holes to play.  No. 12 UCF (+11) sits in fourth place, followed by Illinois (+13) in fifth.  The 16-team field includes five Power 4 teams. 

Eva Ringwald, a sophomore from Aidlingen, Germany, is tied for third to pace the Paladins.  She fired a 69 with five birdies, including consecutive birdies on No. 2 and No. 3, in round one then carded a 73 with a team-high four birdies, including back to back birdies on No. 1 and No. 2, in round two.  Ringwald sits three strokes back of individual leader Sophia Fulbrook (-5) of Florida State, who ranks 23rd nationally.  

Junior Audrey Ryu (E) fired a 68 with a team-high six birdies, including three-straight birdies from No. 2 through No. 4, in the opening round then added a 76 in the second round.  She is tied for fifth entering Tuesday's final round.  Sophomore Jenna Madden (+8) shot a 78 in round one and a 74 in round two, notching three birdies in each round, to tie for 39th, while freshman Olivia Hasselbach (+9) is tied for 43rd entering the final round.  Hasselbach led Furman with a 70 in round two, posting an eagle on the par-6 No. 16 and three birdies, including back to back birdies on No. 7 and No. 8.  Freshman Ava Hanneman (+14) carded a 72 with four birdies in round one and is tied for 74th.  

Freshman Andrea Marin Raga (+11), who is playing as an individual, shot a 78 with a birdie on No. 16 in the opening round and a 77 with three birdies in the afternoon round, tying for 53rd, while junior Kelsi Mauzy (+71), who is also playing as an individual, is in 91st place.

The 54-hole tournament will conclude on Tuesday with a shotgun start slated for 8:30 a.m.  The Paladins will tee off on holes No. 1 through No. 4 and will play in a group with Purdue, Florida State, and Central Florida.  Admission to Tuesday's final round is free and fans are welcome.  Live results are available at https://scoreboard.clippd.com/tournaments/238777/scoring/team.
