GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Evan Vulgamore went 2-for-5, homered, and drove in three runs to lead Quinnipiac past Furman, 8-2, in baseball action Wednesday evening at Latham Stadium.
The win improves the Bobcats to 2-11 on the season while the Paladins fall to 8-9 with the loss.

The early run support backed up solid pitching by Quinnipiac, which got five innings out of starter Arthur Correria, who entered the game with a 13.00 ERA. Â The junior right-hander surrendered only two hits and an unearned run while walking two and posting a pair of strikeouts.

Gavin Scott, was the lone bright spot for the Paladins, working six innings and allowing five hits, three runs, only one of which was earned, while fanning five.
Furman opens a three-game weekend series against the College of Charleston on Friday, with first pitch set for 4:00 p.m.
