Postgame Quotes
Head coach Jackie Carson
Opening Statement
"Obviously the first game is the most difficult by far in a tournament. I can say I even got a little bit worried with the way we start. We start the tournament like that every single year. I can't say if its butterflies or just nervousness or whatever the case, but I'm just glad and super happy with how the team responded in the second half. I believe we had two turnovers in the whole second half of play between the third and fourth quarters. This kid (Celena Taborn) has been battling through all types of injuries and pain and she battled through and did what an upperclassman does. I'm just super proud of all of them for the way they responded, especially the way they responded in the second half."

Junior forward Celena Taborn
On how her injured knee is holding up
"It's coming along, I just have to fight through adversity. I'm not going to let anything stop me from doing what I have to do for my teammates."

On reaching 1,000 career points
"I just have to thank my teammates. Coach (Jackie Carson) is always pushing, 'look inside, look inside' and we have to fight to hold contact. If I do my job, the guards will do theirs and give me the ball and I will score."

On her late rebound and basket to help put the game away
"Coach always preaches to get to your rebounding spots and all three of us were there and I happened to get it. We pulled it out, we executed and then I got the offensive rebound and scored."
