Box Score Asheville, N.C. – No. 7 seed Wofford erased a three-point deficit with a 14-2 run in the second half en route to a 77-68 victory over No. 2 seed Furman on Saturday in the quarterfinal round of the Ingles SoCon Men's Basketball Championship presented by General Shale at Harrah's Cherokee Center Asheville in Asheville, N.C.
 
The Terriers (18-15) advanced to face the winner of tonight's UNCG-Chattanooga matchup. Furman drops to 25-7 and will wait to find out their fate next week in the postseason, sponsored by Foster Victor Wealth Advisors.
 
Wofford led throughout the first half and stretched its advantage to 38-27 in the opening minutes of the second half. Furman rallied with a 16-2 run to take a 43-40 lead on Mike Bothwell's jumper in the paint with 11:24 to play, but the Terriers responded with a 14-2 run of their own to take control of the game. Trevor Stumpe hit two three-pointers during the run and added two more with just under seven minutes to play as Wofford answered each Furman basket.
 
Stumpe connected on 5-of-7 three-point attempts to finish with 18 points, while forward Chevez Goodwin paced the Terriers with 19 points. Storm Murphy added 15 points and converted on 8-of-8 trips to the foul line.
 
Wofford made 9-of-22 three-point attempts on the night and shot 48% from the field. The Terriers posted a 40-24 rebounding edge.
 
Bothwell hit 7-of-14 shots to lead Furman with 18 points. Clay Mounce scored 15 and Jordan Lyons added 13. Furman shot just 41.8%, including 8-for-29 behind the arc.
