GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman men's tennis team will open the 2021 season Saturday when the Paladins travel to Davidson for a 1 p.m. match up. No spectators will be allowed at the event, which will be played at the Davidson Tennis Courts in Davidson, N.C.
The match marks the season opener for both teams. Furman defeated Davidson, 4-1, last season in Greenville to take a 42-7 lead in the series.
Furman will begin the home season Sunday at 3 p.m. when the Paladins take on Gardner-Webb at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C. No spectators will be allowed at the event, but live stats will be available at http://www.FurmanPaladins.com.
Over the years, Furman has been very successful on its home court. Over the past 19 seasons the Paladins have lost only 31 matches at home, posting an impressive record of 144-31 since 2002.
The Paladins defeated the Runnin' Bulldogs, 4-0, last season in Greenville to push Furman's series advantage to 6-0. Gardner-Webb will square off versus Charlotte on Saturday before traveling to Greenville.
