Greenville, S.C. – The ninth-seeded Furman volleyball team begins postseason play on Monday evening when it travels to Chattanooga, Tenn. for a 6 p.m. match against No. 8 seed Chattanooga in the first round of the SoCon Volleyball Championship from Maclellan Gym.

The Paladins (7-19, 2-14 SoCon) closed out their regular season this past weekend dropping a pair of conference home matches to Mercer and Samford.
Against Mercer,
Bella Tolone paced Furman with eight kills while
Neci Harris and
Sydney Tanner each added seven. Harris logged a team high four blocks and
Sarah Turner led the team with 18 assists.
Andrea Aceveda posted 14 digs.
Tolone led the Paladins offensively with 10 kills and contributed six digs versus Samford while
Mikaela Schultz provided eight kills and seven digs. Turner and
Ella Abraham both dished out 16 assists. Defensively, Aceveda led all players with 25 digs.
Tolone is one of three Furman players to have over 100 kills this season with a team leading 267. Harris adds 227 and
Maya Mrus 147. Turner has dished out a team high 545 assists and Abraham contributes 339. Defensively, Aceveda has compiled 423 digs and
Kelsey Watkins 74 blocks.
Chattanooga finished the regular season with an 11-18 overall record and went 7-9 against SoCon opponents.
The Paladins and Mocs are meeting for the 76
th time in program history with Furman leading the all-time series 48-27.
The winner of Monday's first round match will face top-seeded Mercer in the quarterfinals on Friday, November 19 at 3 p.m. ET in Birmingham, Ala.
