Furman Welcomes The Citadel to Alley Gym Wednesday

Game Time Set for 7 p.m.

Greenville, S.C. – The Furman volleyball team is back at Alley Gymnasium on Wednesday evening to host The Citadel Bulldogs in a Southern Conference matchup at 7 p.m.

Fans can follow the action on www.furmanpaladins.com via live stats. The match is being streamed via paid subscription on ESPN+. Updates will also be posted on the Furman volleyball Twitter page (@FurmanVB).

Tickets for Wednesday's match are $5 and can be purchased on www.furmanpaladins.com or at the main entrance of Alley Gymnasium. Tickets for Furman students are free with their student ID. All fans in attendance are required to wear masks.

The Paladins (7-14, 2-9 SoCon) are coming off a pair of road losses last week at Chattanooga and East Tennessee State. Sarah Turner recorded her seventh double-double of the season at Chattanooga with 21 assists and 10 digs. Neci Harris had 10 kills in both matches and now has recorded double-digit kills 12 times this season.

Bella Tolone leads Furman on offense this season with 222 kills and is one of three players to have over 100 for the year along with Harris (199) and Maya Mrus (140). Turner has dished out a team-leading 469 assists while Ella Abraham contributes 280. Defensively, Andrea Aceveda leads the team with 337 digs and Kelsey Watkins adds 61 total blocks (12 solo, 49 assisted).

The Citadel is currently 9-10 on the season and 5-8 in conference play after dropping two SoCon matches on the road last weekend at Chattanooga and East Tennessee State. Sharlissa de Jesus leads the Bulldogs offensively with 318 kills and is averaging 4.42 kills per set. Belle Hogan has dished out 663 assists and Kenzie Kellerman provides 339 digs. Defensively, Gina Delancey contributed 65 total blocks (18 solo, 47 assisted). The Citadel is under the direction of fourth-year head coach Dave Zelenock.

The Paladins are facing the Bulldogs for the 45th time in program history and leads the all-time series 41-4. The Citadel defeated Furman, 3-0, in the last meeting on October 6 in Charleston.

The Paladins play their final road matches of the regular season this weekend, November 5-6, at UNC Greensboro and Western Carolina.
