BELTON, S.C. -- The Furman men's tennis team won the singles draw and the doubles draw to conclude the fall season this weekend at the Southern Conference Fall Championship, which was hosted the Belton Tennis Association in Belton, S.C.

Freshman Jamie Connel defeated Ashe Ray of Wofford, 7-6(1), 7-5 to take the singles title.  Connel beat Wofford's Max Graham, 6-1, 7-5, in the round of 16 then topped Paladin senior James Roelofse, 6-3, 6-1, in the quarterfinals.  He outlasted Mark Endler of Wofford, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, in the semifinals to reach the championship match.

Also in the singles main draw, Roelofse topped UNCG's Hugh Knapp, 6-0, 6-2, and graduate student Ivan Mitric beat Wofford's Alex Horn, 6-3, 6-3.

Two Furman doubles teams reached the finals, with Roelofse and Westling winning by walk over versus Mitric and Connel.  Mitric and Connel held off teams from Wofford and Chattanooga to reach the finals, while Roelofse and Westling defeated duos from Wofford and The Citadel.
